  • What kind of puppies do you sell? Where are you located and do you ship your puppies?
Our puppies are all first generation (F1) standard-sized Goldendoodles. This means they are 50% Golden Retriever and 50% Standard Poodle. Most of our puppies are 60-75 pounds as adults. We are in Bryan, Texas. Our home is conveniently located approximately 1.5 hours from Houston-area, 2 hours from Austin, 3 hours from Dallas, and 3 hours from San Antonio. Shipping is not included but for an additional fee, we can deliver your puppy within a 2 hour radius. We are also able to help coordinate shipping for longer distances requiring flight transport (i.e. out of state). Contact us for more details about pricing! (Linked document with more details coming soon)
  • How much do your puppies cost? How do I reserve one?
Our regular price is subject to a variety of market factors, and may vary from litter to litter but it is most typically between $1700 and $2300. Please reach out to me for more information and pricing for our current litter or waitlist. Regardless of total, the price includes a waitlist holding fee and deposit to reserve your puppy (don't worry, this is part of the deposit and not an extra cost!). See the separate FAQ about the waitlist for more details about how it works. We try not to over-fill our waitlist, so it will likely be the case that at the time puppies arrive, our waitlist will not be full and we will still have some availability. We recommend you check our Facebook business page and this website ("Available Litters" page) for birth announcements and updates. You can always contact us via messenger or text message for individual pictures of puppies and (if interested) to schedule a brief video chat. Once you are ready to make a deposit, I will share payment details. We can accept payments via Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal. If made prior to the puppy turning ~5 weeks old, deposits will not secure a specific puppy, but will add you to the list for puppy selections at that age (see FAQ about the waitlist for more details). Deposits are non-refundable, except in cases where Twin Valley can no longer supply the reserved puppy (i.e. due to puppy's death). Remaining balance is due no later than pick-up day. Puppy's are sold on a spay/neuter contract; breeding rights are occasionally available and are sold on a case-by-case basis for an additional fee.
  • How does your waitlist work and how do I join it?
Twin Valley Goldendoodles’ master waitlist is open for our Summer 2023 Litter. We only have one litter planned, so availability may be limited! See the "Available Litters" page for up-to-date details about our breeding plans. To join our waitlist or reserve an available puppy, please fill out this form. A non-refundable holding fee of $150 will be collected to be placed on the waiting list for future litters. This fee goes toward your total deposit amount. Once you are on the waitlist, you will receive regular updates from Twin Valley regarding each stage of upcoming litters’ progression (i.e. successful mating occurs, pregnancy is confirmed, anticipated due date, etc.). Once puppies are born and we have a final puppy headcount, the remainder of the full $500 deposit ($500-$150=$350) is required to reserve your place in line for puppy selections from that litter (due before puppies are 1 week old). If you choose to forego your place in line for a litter, your name will be re-added to the top of the waitlist for the following litter. If you choose to opt-out for 2 litter cycles in a row (time frame for this is around 14 months), your name will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist to allow for other ready individuals to have their chance at a top-choice puppy. After the 3rd opt-out, your name will be removed from our list and your holding fee will not be refunded. Your place on the waitlist is NOT transferrable to anyone else at any time. At the time you join the waitlist, you will be asked to identify your preference for a male/female/either. This will help inform how many people we accept on a waitlist, but waitlist members are not required to commit to a certain sex until after the puppies are born, at the time when deposits are paid. At the time the deposit is paid (after puppies are born but before puppies are one week old), the waitlist member must commit to selecting a male or female puppy so that we know clearly what is available in the litter. Once deposits are secured and the selection list is finalized, puppies will be selected in order of the list around 5 weeks of age. In most cases, selections are made using photos, videos, FaceTime, and breeder’s advice regarding personality of individual puppies. However, you may choose to coordinate a visit to come select your puppy. The visit should happen before the puppies are 5 weeks old so that you will be ready to make a timely choice. **While we never anticipate this, Twin Valley reserves the right to refund the holding fee and remove an individual from the waitlist at any time. Just a reminder that our breeding dogs are our personal pets, and Twin Valley is committed first and foremost to their best interests; as such, in some cases this may mean that a planned litter may be postponed or planned breeding partners may be changed. We will update our waitlist about any such changes as soon as possible, and when drastic changes occur, you may be offered the opportunity to have your holding fee refunded.** Please fill out this form to apply to join the waitlist. (Or copy paste: https://forms.gle/XMWKSoTqH4t8wby37) Once we contact you to confirm we've received application, you will have 24 hours to pay the holding fee (usually via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal) or you forfeit your spot on the list. We will also schedule a brief phone call (~15 mins) to give us the opportunity to ensure you understand our buying process and answer any questions you may have!
  • Are your parent doggies health tested?
Yes! Our mama dogs and sires are dual AKC and CKC registered purebreds, and they have underdone extensive health and genetic testing. All parents are genetically health tested for over 250 inherited diseases. Please see the "Available Litters" page for more details on their excellent results! Note that pictures of certificates/results will only be shown in person or via video chat in order to prevent unwarranted copies by scammers.
  • What health services and training do you provide for my puppy before pick-up?
Each puppy will be vet-checked and have received their age-appropriate first round vaccination shots (Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2), Canine Coronavirus, Canine Parainfluenza and Canine Parvovirus Type 2b). Additionally, they will be dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age. To give your puppy the best possible headstart in training, we are proud to follow the Puppy Culture (PC) program. This includes engaging our litters in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of daily exercises performed with each puppy individually to help them develop a more easy-going temperament. The program also includes emotional resiliency exercises, safe early socialization techniques, and many more enrichment activities. To further ease the transition into their new homes, we also start introducing age-appropriate potty training methods for your puppy around 6 weeks old. We will also send you home with a small care package that includes a few treats, toys, and an item with the mama dog's scent on it.
  • Do you offer a health guarantee?
We would never sell a puppy we suspected had any health issues, but our advice is to establish care with your vet within 2 weeks of pick-up to ensure no surprises. If a terminal communicable disease such as parvo is diagnosed by a vet within 1 week of pick-up and the puppy dies as a result, we will provide you with a full refund. Your puppy will also be covered by a 2 year congenital/genetic cause of death health guarantee. We are not responsible for accidental death, injuries, or illness once the puppy has left our property.
  • How old will my puppy be when I bring it home? Can I come visit before pick-up?
Your puppy will be 7-8 weeks old and fully ready to make the transition to your home. We will have a pick-up day scheduled for a Saturday, and we ask that you do everything in your power to make this date work for your schedule. The health of our dogs and puppies is very important to us and we take every precaution to protect them. Young puppies' immune systems are not fully developed, and when life-threatening diseases (such as Parvo) strike, they can kill a whole litter in a matter of hours. Because disease germs can be carried on people’s clothing and shoes, we prefer that you “visit” us online, rather than in person. However, we occasionally allow outside visitors to our young litters on a case-by-case basis (ONLY clients with a paid deposit will be considered).
  • How much will my puppy weigh when it grows up?
We breed standard-sized goldendoodles, which means they will weigh between 50-70 pounds as adults. Both of our mama dogs weigh about 65-70 pounds, and our sires weigh between 50-60 pounds.
  • What will my puppy's coat be like when it grows up? Will it shed?
We breed first generation (F1) goldendoodles, which means they are genetically 50% golden retriever and 50% poodle. Much like human siblings in a given family, different puppy offspring will display a variety of differences in size, color and type of coat. There are three main coat types for goldendoodles: 1) Straight coat, which is basically flat and has more of a golden retriever quality to it (less common for F1s). 2) Wavy coat, which come across as more of a mixture of poodle curls with the a golden retriever’s straighter-style coat (most common for F1s). 3) Curly, which tends to look more like a poodle coat (less common for F1s). Generally speaking, the curlier your puppy's coat is, the more hypoallergenic (less shedding) your dog is likely to be. Please note: your puppy is NOT guaranteed to be hypo-allergenic or non-shedding. There is no such thing as a truly 100% hypoallergenic dog. F1 Goldendoodles are compatible for most families with MILD allergies. If allergies are a serious concern for you, we advise you consider finding a doodle with more poodle genetics (such as an F1b). Buyers must be willing to accept that there is a possibility that your puppy may grow up into different features than initially expected (i.e. different weight or coat-type). The best we can give are estimates, we cannot predict exactly what your puppy will look like as an adult. But don't worry, so far none of our customers has had any trouble falling completely in love with their puppy of choice!
  • Is there anything else I should be aware of when purchasing a goldendoodle?
Although they are athletic, sturdy, and easily trained, goldendoodles are considered high-maintanence when it comes to grooming. The length of their hair when left uncut grows to about 4-6 inches, and it will begin to mat if left untended. Doodle owners are advised to brush their goldendoodle puppy at least once a week and get their dogs professionally groomed approximately every 3 months. Make sure to do your research before jumping in to this adorable breed!
